Chicago Center for Compassion

Feng Shui

Visits to your home or office utilizing traditional feng shui principles and practices. Energies are balanced through removal of energy blockages, visible and invisible, and balanced placement of remaining furniture and objects . Suggestions are made as to what might be brought into the space for harmony and balance. You will experience shifts in body, mind and spirit at home and in business. Some feng shui placement suggestions can be made during your visits to the Center using drawings of your space. We also offer guidance when considering various locations for a new home or office based on energic balance.

.
Energy Consulting

A consultation is experienced over tea* over about two hours time. During the winter season, we sit in the fireplace room overlooking the moss garden often under winter snows. During spring we sit outside overlooking the moss garden. Looking within your body, we are able to see where there are blockages leading to lowered energy, diminished focus and clarity, and often to illnesses. Buddhist-Taoist teachings are brought forward addressing your problems and concerns. Often your pain may come forward during these sittings to be presented to the Buddhas for healing. If you are taking multiple supplements, or considering supplements or homeopathics, or if you need guidance around what you are eating, we allow the Buddhas to guide as to what is appropriate for your system and what is not.*We serve Chinese-style teas from the mountains of Taiwan in the traditional manner of tea during consultations. The tea may be a rich dark oolong, or light mountain oolong.

.
Qi Gong & Esoteric Tai Chi

We work with clearing and aligning your energy field using Qi Gong and other forms of energy work, including expelling negative entities. You are given Qi Gong and Tai Chi exercises to practice at home between visits. During visits your Tai Chi or Qi Gong exercises may be modified or changed, based on your body's new patterns of energy and alignment.

.
Tea

During your visit, we are intuitively guided to cook a special medicinal tea designed for your body, which you take home and drink over the course of the next few days. During warmer seasons, many of the herbs from these teas come from the garden surrounding the house. During colder months, the teas are made from traditional Chinese, Mexican, and Western loose herbs.

.
Buddhist-Taoist Meditation

In the back of the Japanese moss garden is a Japanese teahouse. The teahouse is open for silent meditation practices either during a visit, or any time you wish to come. Sitting in the teahouse, you are surrounded by paintings made by one of our Asian Masters. You will also find the master's calligraphy inside the house. Just being in the presence of his paintings and calligraphy is a uniquely enlightening experience. You also may do sitting meditation during your visit inside the house before the altars.
